Rehoboth introduces monthly market day

The Rehoboth Town Council has introduced a monthly market day.

The Rehoboth Community Connect Market Day aims to empower local entrepreneurs, providing them with a consistent platform to showcase their products, generate income and build sustainable businesses.

Rehoboth mayor Justin Coetzee says the initiative is intended to stimulate local economic growth and improve business relations among local entrepreneurs.

“The event signals the beginning of a relationship which will benefit both the council and small businesses,” he says.

Deputy mayor Cornvenus Klazen says the event aims to ignite an entrepreneurial spirit at the town.

“Beyond economic growth, this initiative is about bringing our community together. It’s a space where families can enjoy themselves, neighbours can connect, and we can celebrate the richness of our local culture,” he says.

Rehoboth resident Rendall Beukes says it is about time for the town to host such an initiative. He says market days are rapidly becoming popular community events, showcasing the best sporting, cultural, and other talent.

“Market days aim to promote locally made goods and services and increase income of local producers. The event is a great way for local entrepreneurs to
promote their products and services,” he says.
