Remarkies releases album, clothing brand

Remarkies

Upcoming Oshakati singer and music producer Remarkies has released his debut album, ‘Hustle Hard’, on online music platforms and social media.

The singer, real name Remarkus Idhenga, is also the founder of one of the fastest-growing brands in northern Namibia, ‘Night Vibes’, and he recently announced the release of his clothing brand.

Following the release of his two singles, ‘Pull Up’ and ‘Simaneka’, which have enjoyed plenty of airplay this year, the singer spoke to The Namibian about his debut album and brand.

The album contains 12 tracks, with songs produced by himself and mastered by northern-based producers Sondy and Kyla.

The album features only two artists – Prince Black and Jazzi Nator, he says.

The inspiration for the album’s title was all about working hard to accomplish something, he says.

“I was once told by my brother (Chezy) to work hard to put something on the table and to never take short cuts, but to go through the process, hence the title of the album,” Remarkies says.

The motivational single, ‘Pull Up,’ talks about not caring about what people think or how they treat you, but to carry on to achieve your goals. Another single, ‘Simaneka,’ talks about respecting parents, regardless of whether they’re well-off or not.

“You must always respect and remember who gave birth to you,” he says.

Speaking of altering the game, the singer says he is ready for the industry and his songs are distinct from those of other musicians because they always carry a powerful message to inspire even other artists.

Apart from that, the singer also spoke about his brand, ‘Night Vibes’, which he says is all about chilling at night.

He came up with the brand to source extra income to take care of his family and start a project to help people suffering on the street.

“My brand is catering to influence people’s associations with and feelings towards the brand, to create a distinctive identity and to develop loyalty over time.”
