Some Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) teams in the Zambezi region’s remote areas could not share election results on Thursday due to network challenges.
The affected teams were in the Kongola, Sibbinda, Kabbe South, and Kabbe North constituencies.
Regional electoral officer Lesley Simwanza on Friday said as a result, teams had to be relocated to Katima Mulilo to be able to share results.
He said this decision was made in consultation with party agents.
“The network was very slow in the areas they were stationed at, and they could not upload the results to the main server. However, we were able to bring them to town, and they are busy uploading their results with the assistance of the technical team. The uploading process is progressing well,” he said.
