Rundu prepares for Ngandu Festival

HE second edition of the Ngandu Festival was launched recently at a media and stakeholder event at Rundu and aimed to set the tone for the festival from 10 to 11 April at the Rundu Sports Stadium.

An estimated 2 000 to 5 000 attendees are expected at the event which provides a platform for artists, entrepreneurs and athletes from the Kavango regions to sell and grow their product offerings.

“The Ngandu Festival is a contemporary platform created to offer young Kavango artists and entrepreneurs’ access to an audience and networking opportunities for their offerings,” founder of Ngandu Events, Andreas Gustav said.

“This is an opportunity we saw that was necessary. Last year’s overall feedback from exhibitors was positive which is why we aim for this year’s edition to be bigger and better. We also aim to collaborate with established entrepreneurs and artists to create engagement that will help highlight to the rest of Namibia what we can offer as the regions,” Gustav said.

He said the festival prides itself on promoting business empowerment by using multiple stalls set up to create a stage for exhibitors from various spheres to promote, sell and develop their products.

Gustav said activities at this year’s event will also include sports tournaments and performances by various DJs and musicians from the two regions.
