RUNDU – Rundu Town Council has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.
Romanus Ngurungu Haironga was appointed with effect from Thursday. For four years the Rundu Town Council has been without a permanent CEO, since the departure of Lukas Muhepa, who was suspended in 2004.Speaking during a reception for the newly appointed CEO, Rundu Mayor Gosbert Mandema said the Town Council had experienced difficult times during the absence of a permanent CEO, which caused uncertainty in steering the organisation and made decisions increasingly difficult to implement.Mandema challenged the new CEO to recognise the Town Council’s demands and map out workable strategies and solutions to address the town’s growing demands.”Rundu residents and business community have high expectations and hopes in terms of timely and quality service delivery and it is upon the newly appointed CEO to turn these hopes and expectation into realities”, said the Mayor.Haironga expressed gratitude for the Council’s trust in him, saying he welcomed the challenging position.”I need your full support, your guidance as well as advice so that I can grow and contribute successfully to the development of our mighty Rundu town and Kavango Region,” appealed the CEO.The new CEO holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Human Resources and previously worked as Customs and Excise officer in the Finance Ministry. The Rundu Town Council management committee, management of the Kavango Regional Council and staff members of the Town Council attended the reception.NampaFor four years the Rundu Town Council has been without a permanent CEO, since the departure of Lukas Muhepa, who was suspended in 2004.Speaking during a reception for the newly appointed CEO, Rundu Mayor Gosbert Mandema said the Town Council had experienced difficult times during the absence of a permanent CEO, which caused uncertainty in steering the organisation and made decisions increasingly difficult to implement.Mandema challenged the new CEO to recognise the Town Council’s demands and map out workable strategies and solutions to address the town’s growing demands.”Rundu residents and business community have high expectations and hopes in terms of timely and quality service delivery and it is upon the newly appointed CEO to turn these hopes and expectation into realities”, said the Mayor.Haironga expressed gratitude for the Council’s trust in him, saying he welcomed the challenging position.”I need your full support, your guidance as well as advice so that I can grow and contribute successfully to the development of our mighty Rundu town and Kavango Region,” appealed the CEO.The new CEO holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Human Resources and previously worked as Customs and Excise officer in the Finance Ministry. The Rundu Town Council management committee, management of the Kavango Regional Council and staff members of the Town Council attended the reception.Nampa
