SOUTH AFRICAN pianist Rocco de Villiers will stop over at the Warehouse Theatre during his tour of Namibia.
De Villiers is expected to perform on Saturday 28 January as from 20h00.
His tour will first take him to Okahandja on 24 January; Otjiwarongo on 25 January; Tsumeb on 26 January; and Omaruru on 27 January before he makes it to the capital city.
De Villiers has released 11 instrumental CDs; two cocktail books; a live DVD and has written and produced 21 instrumental stage productions. His latest release is a new CD album titled ‘Beautiful Beautiful Hymns.’
His previous albums ‘Countrykeys,’ Beautiful Beautiful Piano,’ and ‘More Beautiful Piano’ as well as ‘Stunning’ have sold more than 90 000 copies.
In 2014 De Villiers also released sheet music, ‘Rocco de Villiers Bladmusiek vir Klavier Volume 1’ of his own compositions.
De Villiers has been nominated and awarded a Huisgenoot Tempo, Ghoema Award, Vonk Award, a Sama and a Cape Theatre Award.”
He is also co–director of Third Ear Sound which takes commissions for television, film and museum sound concept design.
De Villiers recently wrote the score of an American film, Brewsie & Willie, composed the theme music for nine television series and has produced two television series and two documentaries for M-NET on the history of South African music.
He was also presenter of two series on kykNet, Kook en Klavier en Rocco and more recently Klop die Klawers.
De Villiers does more than 120 performances yearly, appears on television regularly and does MC work. His 14th album, is due for release in 2017.
Currently, De Villiers is involved in a nationwide charity in collaboration with Shoprite Checkers South Africa where he visits old-age homes and retirement villages entertaining the elderly.

The collection features his most requested, played, listened and loved tracks from his last five albums. All chosen by the audiences.
