SADC asked to remove trade barriers

SOUTHERN African Development Community’s executive secretary Stergomena Lawrence Tax says the region needs to get rid of all trade barriers to improve trade.

Tax said this at a Southern African Development Community (SADC) meeting of trade ministers currently underway in Windhoek today.

The executive secretary further called for constant engagement among member states to drive the industrialisation bid.

“While progress has been made in the industrialisation sector, there is a need for constant engagement among member states in eliminating barriers. We have to continue pushing towards a common vision of industrialisation,” she said.

She emphasised the need for SADC to pull efforts together during the challenging times of drought, floods and other natural disasters.
