The Windhoek City Police have confirmed an accident involving a vehicle of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) election observers in Windhoek on Wednesday.
The observers are currently visiting Namibia for next week’s elections.
Superintendent Marceline Murapo said the accident involving three vehicles took place at around 17h00 at the corner of Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue and Church Street.
“Two of the vehicles had a head-on collision and one was hit on the side,” she said.
Murapo added that those involved in the accident were transported to a hospital. She could not confirm the number of injured persons or if there were any election observers on board the SADC vehicle.
