Sanlam Investments Nam launches unit trust platform

SANLAM Investments Namibia has launched an online investment services portal for its unit trust clients, as it moves to become the preferred financial services provider in the country.

The portal was launched yesterday in Windhoek, which business development consultant Stephanie de Klerk said was done after conducting a pilot project which had over 3 600 clients onboard already.

Called ‘Secure Services’, the portal will give a 24 hour, seven days a week access to Sanlam’s unit trust investors to view their statements, daily prices and portfolio information.

De Klerk said the portal will also allow investors to transact securely at their convenience.

“By launching a digital viewing and transacting solution such as Secure Services, we will enhance the investors’ access to their investment portfolio information,” she said.

On the platform’s safety, De Klerk said it was administered from South Africa and allows for dual verification at both registration and transaction through the sending of a one time pin.

This portal will not cost the investors additional management fees.

According to Sanlam Investment’s chief executive Tega Shiimi ya Shiimi, the company has assets under management to the tune of N$7,6 billion.

Shiimi ya Shiimi said as the new platform leads to ease of doing business, Sanlam expects to attract new clients.

The platform will also be used by Sanlam Investment Namibia brokers and intermediaries, thereby enhancing the post sale client service and enabling them to assist their clients onto the portal.
