Schlettwein waves goodbye

Former agriculture minister Calle Schlettwein took to social media to bid farewell to the Namibian people following his retirement from government.

This comes after president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah announced her Cabinet of 14 ministers at State House on Saturday.

“I am now retired. I am still adjusting to the fact that tomorrow, Monday, I cannot go to my office,” he said on X on Sunday.

“Nevertheless I am excited about the new challenges and the freedom to choose what I want to do, when and how. Thank you, Namibia, for the extraordinary opportunities advanced to me.”

The president appointed mainly new faces to serve in her Cabinet for the next five years. Nandi-Ndaitwah also reduced the number of ministers from 21 to 14, and deputy ministers from 17 to seven.
