Second Le Mirage robber nabbed

Second Le Mirage robber nabbed

POLICE are confident that a band of thieves who broke into the Le Mirage Lodge and Spa near Sossusvlei last Thursday have been dealt with.

After arresting one of the suspects directly following the incident, the Police yesterday reported a second arrest.
It was initially reported that four suspects had been involved, with the security guard on duty giving detailed descriptions of the suspects.
However, Leading Lodges of Africa spokesperson Leez Hovelmann told The Namibian yesterday that two of the suspects have been eliminated as suspects.
The two men being held are aged 22 and 30, and had worked at the lodge until the robbery.
N$75 000 in cash was stolen from the lodge safe.
Hovelmann said yesterday that approximately N$36 000 was discovered in the bush surrounding the lodge.
The suspects are being held on charges of housebreaking and theft.
