SECURITY guards working for the Nyangula Security Company in Oshakati held a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday, complaining about unfair labour practices at the Oshakati branch.
They handed over a petition to one of the Oshakati supervisors, who said he would forward it to the company director, Felix Mukupi, at Katima Mulilo. In the petition, the guards demanded that their salaries be paid on the same date every month.
They also demanded pay slips and back-pay to March 1, when minimum wages were introduced.
Other demands included pension-fund benefits, paid overtime and 24 leave days a year, as stipulated in the Labour Act.
The guards want a response from management within five workdays.
