Seibeb’s ‘grow up’ comments misplaced – LPM

The Landless People’s Movement (LPM) has hit back at its former deputy leader, Henny Seibeb, who has said the party should grow up.

Seibeb, who has criticised the ruling party in the past, rejoined Swapo on Sunday.

He was welcomed back by some of the party’s top brass, including secretary general Sophia Shaningwa, at Khorixas.

Seibeb on Monday took a swipe at the LPM, saying it should “grow up”, before telling the party to “swallow the blade”.

He said LPM leader Bernadus Swartbooi has made unfounded accusations against him.

“So many things Swartbooi said about me, Edson Isaaks, founding father Sam Nujoma, Utoni Nujoma, Hilma Nicanor, Hage Geingob, etc.

“Unlike them, there are many understandable and genuine people with empathy and compassion,” he told The Namibian.

LPM spokesperson Lifalaza Simataa on Monday said Seibeb’s comments are misplaced, as it is the general public that has mocked and poked fun at his convictions and principles, not the LPM.

“As the general public actively recalls his insults towards the ruling party, the late president and their general competencies as a governing body, merely to return to that same party he had so many words for.

“The general public has likened it to politics of the belly, or flip-floping,” he said.

Lifalaza said the LPM advises that Seibeb focus on explaining to the public why Swapo is suddenly competent in his eyes.
