Swapo vice president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged Swapo members and employees working at the party’s new regional headquarters at Mariental to serve people equally and not turn anyone away because of their political affiliations.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said people from all tribes, creeds, language groups, colours and religions should be served when they go to Swapo offices because they know it as their home.
She made the remarks on Saturday at the inauguration of Swapo’s new Hardap headquarters at Mariental, built by Kalahari Holdings at a cost of more than N$5 million.
“You are making a commitment to work hard with dedication in the same manner the Swapo Party has been doing for 64 years,” Nandi-Ndaitwah said.
“Yes, having a physical institution is very important because it makes a difference to your work and the quality of service to the community. Remember you are responsible for all Namibians. No one should be told you are not a party member, because they know where home is. So work with that understanding,” she said.
The new building will host not only the party’s regional staff, but also its youth wing, elders’ council and womens’ council.
Nandi-Ndaitwah urged Swapo members to take care of the infrastructure by executing timely maintenance as she thanked Kalahari Holdings, diplomats who attended the event to represent their countries and sister party representatives from South Africa’s African National Congress, Zimbabwe’s Zanu-PF, the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Cuba, among others.
