HEALTH minister Kalumbi Shangula launched his autobiography titled ‘Journey Into The Unknown’ on Thursday evening.
The book was published in conjunction with the Namibia Scientific Society.
In the book, Shangula talks about his life, his time in the exile from 1974 and being a civil servant and business person among others.
High profile figures such as founding president Sam Nujoma, vice-president Nangolo Mumba, deputy prime minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, National Assembly Speaker Peter Katjavivi, attorney general Festus Mbendeka, finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi, deputy health minister Ester Muinjangue and health executive director Ben Nangombe among others attended the launch.
Speaking and officially launching the book, Nujoma said it was about courage and determination by a liberation fighter, Dr Kalumbi Shangula.
Nujoma said decades ago, Shangula was a young man determined to fight against apartheid. He added that Shangula and others embarked into a journey into the unknown, in search of freedom.
Nujoma noted that Shangula lays his life bear in the book and commended him for the clarity and thoughts throughout the book, adding that chapters are organized in a logical manner to make the book easily understandable.
