Sheehama takes on Miss Cosmo World Malaysia

CHOSEN … Mirjam Sheehama has been chosen to compete at the Miss Cosmo World pageant.

Miriam Sheehama – model, influencer, brand ambassador, and creator of the We Are One Foundation – has been chosen to participate in the Miss Cosmo World pageant.

The competition will take place on 20 November in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“Being the first Namibian woman to compete in this competition is both exciting and challenging.

“I want to grow in the modelling industry and pursue new opportunities,” Sheehama says.

The Miss Cosmo World pageant is well-known for its commitment to promoting cultural diversity and empowering aspiring models.

The pageant provides a platform for finalists to gain international recognition and secure jobs in the fashion, film and television industries.

Sheehama, who hails from the village of Onekwaya in Namibia’s Ohangwena region, began modelling in primary school.

She honed her skills with the help of Maria Nepembe’s modelling agency.

“I have always wanted to be a model. I have made it my mission to live a healthy lifestyle and present a professional image,” Sheehama explains.

She adds that international pageants provide invaluable experience, allowing her to meet people from various backgrounds, broaden her horizons and boost her self-confidence.

Sheehama’s breakthrough moment in the pageant industry was in 2020, when she was discovered by a Zimbabwean talent scout during Windhoek Fashion Week, resulting in her international debut at Miss Globe in Albania.

Sheehama has since performed on stages around the world, including in the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Cambodia, Lebanon, Thailand, South Africa and Ghana.

With the help of her management, Embrace Afrika, she is determined to make her mark on the global modelling scene.

Mirjam is no longer just any model; in September of this year, she was signed by FP Models Agency, one of the largest agencies in Dubai, and is now a professional model.

She sees Miss Cosmo World as an opportunity to proudly represent Namibia and highlight the rich diversity of her cultural heritage.

“If I win the title, I intend to use the platform to help underprivileged children in Namibia.”

“I will use the Miss Cosmo World platform to raise awareness about the plight of vulnerable children and secure funding to improve their lives,” Sheehama says, adding that this will be accomplished through her We Are One Foundation.

“I will continue our efforts to provide food, clothing and support to those in need,” she says.

“The We Are One Foundation, founded several years ago, is committed to having a positive impact on society, “ says Sheehama.

According to her, the foundation donates essential items and helps those in financial need every month.
