Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters member Michael Amushelelo says the three families of those who died in a head-on crash involving police inspector general Joseph Shikongo last December will be demonstrating at Ondangwa Police Station on Saturday.
This in a bid to demand justice for their families.
Amushelelo recently announced this on social media.
Sofia Ananias, Fransa Ndengu and Stefanus Lukas died in the accident.
“On behalf of the families I am also humbly asking the nation to show up in high numbers at the Ondangwa Police Station to demand justice.
“Today it’s those families, tomorrow it could be our own,” Amushelelo wrote.
Oshana police spokesperson inspector Thomas Aiyambo on Friday said regional commander Naftal Lungameni is aware of the planned demonstration.
“. . . and is going to meet with Amushelelo and the families this afternoon,” he said.
Following the accident, which took place along the Oshikango road last December, the police have been investigating Shikongo in connection with culpable homicide, and reckless and negligent driving.
In our recent post, we reported that Shikongo would meet the families on Friday, however it is Lungameni who will meet with the group to discuss the planned demonstration.
