Shikusho leads Magic assault

TURA Magic thrashed Right Way FC 14-0 to maintain their perfect start to the Skorpion Zinc Women’;s Super League on Saturday. It was their third consecutive win which puts them two points clear of Khomas Nampol FC, Namib Daughters and V Power Angels at the top of the log.

Anna Shikusho was Magic’;s star player, scoring six goals in a one-sided romp. She had not been able to play in the league previously due to work commitments, but on Saturday bounced back with a bang.

She opened the scoring after only two minutes and scored another, other side of a Beyonce Cloete goal as Magic streaked into a 3-0 lead after only five minutes.

By halftime they were already 7-0 ahead and the one-way traffic continued after the break as Magic completed their biggest win of the season.

The hard running Shikusho deservedly won the player of the match award, while the other goal scorers were Beyonce Cloete (2), Memory Ngonda (2), Chanteline Engelbrecht (2), Thomalina Adams and Lovisa Mulunga.

Khomas Nampol were made to work hard for a 4-0 victory against a spirited Girls Football Academy.

By half time the score was still 0-0 and the young girls side even created a few scoring chances against the powerful Nampol side.

After the break though, Nampol’;s experience started to count as their national defenders Ndapewa Katuta and Kasie Amukoto launched some long range efforts at goal.

Katuta opened the scoring with a freekick and then added another, while further goals by Sarafina Nakashole and Kamunikire Tjituka completed their victory.

Khomas Nampol are still unbeaten after three matches and move into second position on seven points, ahead of Namib Daughters and V Power Angels on goal difference. Katuta won the player of the match award.

V Power Angels scored a fine 2-1 victory against Galz & Goals in an evenly contested encounter.

Fiola Viete put the Angels ahead with a great curling shot just before half time, while at the other end, Beverly Uueziua created several chances with her surging runs for Galz & Goals, which were not capitalised on.

After the break, the Angels won a penalty after a great run by Viete into the box, where she was fouled, and Gweneth Naris made no mistake from the spot to put them 2-0 ahead.

Uueziua continued to cause problems for V Power Angels’; defence and finally found the net with an acute shot midway through the second half.

Galz & Goals worked hard for the equaliser with Uueziua and Iyaloo Rooi coming close, but V Power Angels held on for a 2-1 win which puts them level with Khomas Nampol on seven points.

Galz & Goals defender Asteria Angula won the player of the match award.

At the coast, Namib Daughters scored a 4-1 victory against Nust Babes to also remain unbeaten and move up to seven points from three matches.

Ignacia Haoses scored a brace and Joycy Taes and Moriza Gawanas one goal each for Namib Daughers, while Haoses won the player of the match award.

In Gobabis, Omaheke Queens held Unam Bokkies to a thrilling 3-3 draw to get their first point of the campaign and move off the bottom of the log.

Luzenda Agas, Winnie Kamuhenune and Tjamunene Ndjavera scored for Omaheke, while Meldret Ujamba, Johanna Ludgerus and Emilia Otto scored for Unam.

Veronica van Wyk of Omaheke Queens won the player of the match award.
