Simon says fight was ‘awkward’

HELAO NAFIDI – Former two-time world champion Harry ‘The Terminator’ Simon beat Tanzanian boxer Joseph Kaseba here on Saturday, pushing his record to 30 fights undefeated.

Simon won the non-title fight with a technical knock-out in the second round during the Salute boxing bonanza staged at the Helao Nafidi Business Expo hall.

Simon said the fight was “awkward and very easy”, adding that he did not feel like he fought.

Kaseba, who went into the fight with a rib injury sustained in kickboxing fights he specialises in back home, was knocked down in the first round and again in the second round.

“I am not putting blame on anything for my defeat; however I have injuries to my ribs which Simon knew about, so he took advantage of the opportunity,” Kaseba stated.

Both Kaseba and his coach commended Simon for being the legendary boxer he is, saying “they will always respect him” for it.

“Simon is an inspirational fighter; he is among the five best boxers in the world, and I am glad I got this experience,” Kaseba noted.

Simon indicated that his next fight is scheduled for 30 April this year. Details about this fight will still be confirmed.
