A 22-year-old resident of the village Omalyadhila in the Omusati region has been arrested and charged with the rape of a six-year-old.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on Sunday (23 July).
The regional commander of the police in Omusati, commissioner Ismael Basson, says the suspect appeared in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court this week and was remanded in custody for further investigation.
