The Namibian Training Authority (NTA) will host its third national skills competition at the Ongwediva Trade Fair from 25 to 30 September in preparation for the global WorldSkills competition in France next year.
This competition targets technical and vocational skill sets, with the finest in a various skills competing to dispel misconceptions around technical and vocational skills jobs.
The head of technical and vocational education and training regulations and chairperson of the skills competition committee, Tobias Nambala, said: “Through its technical and vocational careers exhibition component, we are to partner with credible training institutions to introduce Namibian pupils and youth to the wide array of technical and vocational career options.”
The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) director general, Stanley Similo, said the event will be fully broadcast across all the NBC platforms.
He said continued coverage of the skills competition could reach more corporates, encouraging them to involve their brands in the vocational and technical skills sector.
