THE authorities could shed no light yesterday on the reported death of footballer Victor Helu.
The coach of Helu’s club, Ronnie Kanalelo, on Sunday told The Namibian that he had received an SMS from Eleven Arrows owner JJ Doëseb that Helu had been stabbed to death in Windhoek.He was apparently stabbed in the head on Friday evening and died on Saturday.When contacted yesterday, Doëseb said he had received no details of Helu’s death.The acting Chief of the City Police, Gerhard Shikesho, said the footballer’s death had not been reported to the City Police and referred The Namibian to the Namibian Police.Chief Inspector Angula Amulungu of the Namibian Police said he did not know about Helu’s death and the Police were not investigating the case since no one had laid a charge.
