Somizi visits Namibia after Zim shun

SOUTH African celebrity choreographer, singer, actor, and TV personality Somizi Mhlongo recently visited Namibia after a church group in Zimbabwe expressed their anti-gay stance.

He made an appearance at The Catch in Windhoek on Thursday.

Mhlongo posted a video of himself in Namibia on social media and another of him on stage at The Catch.

The celeb was prevented from flying to Zimbabwe for a gig, allegedly due to his sexual orientation.

He was expected to make an appearance at the reopening of a popular restaurant in Zimbabwe.

The Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe and the Zanu-PF Youth League wrote to the Zimbabwean presidents office calling for Mhlongo to be prevented from visiting Zimbabwe.

Mhlongo responded to the commotion by posting a video on Instagram expressing how he felt.

“After my Zimbabwean saga of them not wanting me to come there, I immediately got an invite, and here I am now.

“I am going to Namibia. They just booked me. I did a Covid-19 test, and I am going,” he said in the video.

Mhlongo in another video said he is pleased with who he is.

“By them not wanting me to come there wont change why people are gay.

“I am not the reason why people are homosexual. I will keep advocating, even if it means I should die for it,” he said.
