Financial services Group, Standard Bank Namibia Holdings has appointed head of corporate and investment banking Nelson Lucas as the acting chief executive for six months, effective Wednesday.
This was announced by Standard Bank on the Namibian Stock Exchange news platform on Thursday and follows the resignation of former chief executive Mercia Geises.
According to the announcement, the board of directors will commence the process of appointing a substantive chief executive while Lucas is at the helm.
Lucas, a chartered accountant, joined Standard Bank Namibia in 2020 after 13 years at PwC Namibia.
According to the board, Lucas has extensive expertise in auditing of financial institutions, consulting in business advisory, VAT and transfer pricing.
Geises’ resignation was reported to be effective as of 1 August, and it is not clear how the acting appointment will work.
