Sugar and Spice … Currently

At 01h18 on Wednesday morning, I woke up to find that I’d left my bedroom light on, I was lying on top of the covers and I was trying (not very successfully) to cover myself with a pillow.

This is an accurate description of how my week’s been going. A little odd, a little deurmekaar, a lot happy that it’s over.

Here’s a round-up of what’s been happening in my world lately.

Listening to… Albums I’ve had on repeat for a while now are Adele’s ‘25’, Rihanna’s ‘ANTI’ and Bryson Tiller’s ‘Trap Soul’. I’ve listened to a couple of songs on Kanye West’s ‘The Life of Pablo’ and… I don’t like it.

I’m not sure what that says about me but frankly?

I don’t care.

Reading… I’ve been trying to finish ‘Flame in the Snow: The Love Letters of Andre Brink and Ingrid Jonker’ for the longest time (I’m reviewing it for our book section) but I’m not winning.

I decided to give it a break until after the weekend and started reading ‘The Girl on the Train’ by Paula Hawkins. So far, so good! It’s a real page-turner.

Watching… I’ve been obsessed with the British series ‘Luther’ (starring the ineffable Idris Elba) lately. It’s deliciously dark, has me double checking the tiny space under my bed for serial killers and is absolutely brilliant!

My only complaint is that the seasons are terribly short, about four episodes each.

Indulging in… Pancakes with Nutella and bananas. One of my favourite flavour combinations. Try it.

Looking for… A pair of grey sneakers that look like Adidas Yeezy Boost 350s or like Nike Roshes but won’t bankrupt me like the real deal will. Anyone know where I can find a pair? I’ve got this grey dress they’d be perfect for…

Dreading… The time change. I’ve gotten so used to how late it gets dark these days and I love the fact that when I get home from the gym, we still have a good hour of daylight left.

The time change is going to throw me off, I can feel it already.

Daydreaming about… Upgrading to an iPhone. Only problem is iPhones need iPhone budgets and the way my bank account is set up right now… *chuckles*

Trying… To do more with my photography. It’s a hobby I’ve had for years, and neglected for years too. I don’t see myself ever doing it professionally (Photoshop is complicated…) but I definitely want to sharpen my skills up a bit.

Thinking about… Getting contacts. I’m really over wearing glasses right now.

Working on… A new creative project I’m launching on Monday (Leap Year Day!). Keep an eye on my social media, I think you’ll like it.

As for what it is… You’ll have to wait and see!

What have you been up to? Reading something interesting? Listening to some cool jams? Seen a good movie lately? Tweet me!
