Suzy Eises to perform at 14th annual Jazz on the Rocks festival

Suzy Eises

Namibian saxophonist Suzy Eises will be heading to the international stage at the 14th annual Jazz on the Rocks festival taking place in Tieties Bay, South Africa, on Saturday.

The annual event attracts jazz fans from surrounding towns.

Eises says she was invited to perform by South African radio host and entrepreneur Clarence Ford of Camissa Solutions from Cape Town, as well as Desmond Frankfurt from Walvis Bay.

She says she is excited about the opportunity and will perform original music that speaks of her identity and heritage to relate to the people.

As the only Namibian artist performing, Eises is excited about interacting with a new audience.

“I am thankful to represent Namibia and to have been chosen to perform in South Africa,” she says.

With thousands of visitors every year, the festival will offer Eises a chance to receive more exposure on an international level.

Following this performance, Eises will return to Namibia for the third Namibia Desert Jazz International Festival in Walvis Bay from 18 to 19 March.
