Swartbooi slams ‘Swapo’s AI’ generated jobs

Landless People’s Movement leader Bernadus Swartbooi has cast aspersions on the government’s ability to create the 250 000 jobs mentioned in Swapo’s blueprint.

The government’s target is to create 250 000 jobs across sectors. The target is set to create relief for the high unemployment rate in Namibia.

Responding to the budget speech presented by minister of finance and social grants management Ericah Shafudah two weeks ago, Swartbooi described the job creation target set by the government as artificial intelligence (AI) generated.

A budget of only N$2 billion has been allocated to land reform and agriculture.
“This creates doubt on the 250 000 AI generated jobs promised by Swapo,” Swartbooi says.

He also praises Namibia Revenue Agency commissioner Sam Shivute for doing a good in collecting the needed revenue
