FANS of local record label Mshasho Productions on Friday joined their hero The Dogg in marching for peace in Windhoek.
The kwaito artist, who ironically caused some controversy a week ago after a scuffle in a nightclub that left his face scarred, delivered a petition to the Namibian Police in which he vowed his alliance to the cause of national peace. ‘Last weekend something happened to me that served as a major wake-up call. So instead of focusing my energy on revenge and hatred, I have decided to use my time and influence to speak for those who do not have a voice. And we say enough is enough,’ he said, addressing the Windhoek Police station commander, Chief Inspector Robert Sanjahi.Sanjahi said he was encouraged over so many young people speaking out for peace, but also called on The Dogg (real name Martin Morocky) and other musicians to be responsible in their lyrics.’Let your first message be one of peace,’ Sanjahi said.He further called on young people, especially those who are unemployed, to make themselves available as Police reservists.
