The first time he makes you notice him, he’s standing on the other side of the smoky bar. Blatantly staring at you with a smirk lingering on his lips until you matched his gaze. He’s tall, well-dressed and strikingly handsome. A few sips of his drink later, he walks up to you, starts a conversation and by the end of the night, you’ve exchanged numbers.
After a few flirty texts, you realise that there might be more to this than a mere physical attraction. You should probably start talking about first dates, right? But where to go? What to do? (And most importantly – what to wear?!) We took to Facebook and Twitter to find out what our readers’ idea of a perfect first date is…

I would cook her something because I believe the way to a lady’s heart is definitely through her tummy. Even if some men do not believe that, cooking has made some ladies fall for me.
The perfect first date is one that does not feel like a first date. It has a lot more to do with connection and comfort than location.
I’m not a big fan of restaurants so we can go for a walk. Talk, laugh, tease each other and just make it memorable.

You don’t need to do too much on the first date. Dinner and conversation, nothing more. If I cannot talk to you, I cannot be with you.
My husband cooked for me on my first date with him. He made a mean pepper steak with veggies, salad and French fries. We ate together comfortably with music in the background and talked all night till late. And now we are married.
A visit to the nearest museum, grab some ice-cream, talk about things we are both familiar with, watch the sunset, have a pleasant dinner at the local restaurant and then share a number of goodbyes (which will end up in a kiss).
Something outdoors would be fun: abseiling, going for a hike, going horse-riding, those type of activities throughout the day. And at the end of the day, let’s sit around the fire and talk and really get to know one another. So take me to a farm and let’s have fun.
Watching the perfect sunset.
Movie, dinner, drinks, dancing. In that order. Movie first, because then you have a topic of conversation over dinner and drinks. And dancing so as to see how he interacts socially.
One word: Skype.
Wining and dining or going go-karting.
