Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) created an app that allows visitors, budding travellers and citizens alike to explore the various camps and lodges under the state-owned enterprise.
The good news? It’s gotten a revamp.
The organisation has been in existence since 1998, and some of its famous resorts include the Waterberg Resort, Sossus Dune Lodge and the ever-so-gorgeous Gross Barmen Resort.
But if you’re looking for more detailed information about what falls under the NWR, this app is the perfect solution for you.
Providing fun facts about their holiday spots, including accommodation details, facilities, activities and even prices, now you’ll be able to figure out where to stay and how to plan and budget for your trip.
Who knew that there was a guided walk at the Gross Barmen Resort? And did you know that Onkoshi Resort has panoramic sunrises and sunsets? A stargazer’s paradise!
And if you struggle with directions, a map has been made available for you, in case you ever find yourself lost after you’ve taken a gravel road that should have led to your destination.
And that’s not it. You can also book your rooms directly from your phone and if you ever have any trouble, the managers’ contact details for every lodge/resort are provided.
Honestly, it makes things a whole lot easier.
Aside from that, the NamLeisure option allows you to register for the card (which accounts for about a 50% discount if you’re a local), without having to go to the organisation. It’s a simple as ABC. Write down your details, take a picture of your passport and proof of payment and submit – a process which could take you less than 10 minutes.
If you’re not convinced just yet, feel free to view a couple of videos on YouTube (where the app has provided a link) and be amazed by just how wonderful the country is.
After all, they say that its always best to explore your own country before you head out to another one.
In a press statement released by the company, Mufaro Nesongano, NWR’s corporate communications and online media manager said: “We are glad that we took this long so that we could provide a seamless experience for our clients.”
Deservedly so.
