Ohlthaver and List (O&L) Group executive chairperson Sven Thieme was awarded the international executive chairman of the year award by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).
He received the award at the weekend in Times Square, New York.
The coveted accolade, which recognises exceptional leadership, innovation and dedication to excellence, was presented to Thieme for his transformative impact on the O&L Group.
Under his guidance, the conglomerate has flourished in diverse sectors, including leisure, hospitality, food production, fishing, retail, engineering and green hydrogen.
This recognition not only honours Thieme’s personal achievements but also highlights Namibia’s growing influence in the global business landscape.
The IAOTP, a renowned organisation dedicated to honouring top professionals worldwide, also awarded former Miss Namibia and Miss Universe 1992 Michelle McLean-Bailey a lifetime achievement award and inducted her into the Hall of Fame for her philanthropic work with the Michelle McLean Children Trust and her entrepreneurship.
Her husband, Gary Bailey, received similar honours.
“It is obviously unbelievable to be awarded with such an award, which always feels good if one works very hard for something,” said Thieme, while standing under the large billboard.
He dedicated the achievement to his colleagues, company and country.
