Three cases of possession of cannabis were reported over the weekend at Ongwediva, Opuwo and Khorixas, said police spokesperson Elifas Kuwinga in the weekend crime report.
On Friday, a pupil (17) from Ekwafo Senior Secondary School was found in possession of 26 grams of cannabis valued at N$1 300, which was found in his school bag after a search was conducted at the school.
The pupil is expected to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate Court on Monday.
At Opuwo, two suspects, a man (37) and a woman (24), were arrested after being found in possession of cannabis weighing 284 grams and valued at N$14 000 during a police operation.
The female suspect was charged and released with a warning because she has a small baby and is breastfeeding.
“Both suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday,” said Kuwinga.
At Khorixas, a woman (29) was arrested after she was found with cannabis in her handbag, folded in baby socks.
The value of the cannabis is yet to be determined. The suspect was also charged and released on warning because she is breastfeeding a baby. She is due to appear in court on Monday.
