Today I have a different mindset. The way I think and approach different situations has changed. Young people often have difficulties deciding what to do with their lives, thus they end up doing what everybody else is doing (alcohol, entertainment, and sex).
We need professional teachers and doctors in Namibia.
Youth should engage more in educational activities and clubs. Primary and secondary schools are free, take advantage of it.
In my house, my sisters know everything that happens on Telemundo soapies from A to Z. But when it comes to school work, it’s a disaster.
The point is that we need to change the way we think.
Youth think that alcohol and sex, Telemundo soapies and hanging out is more fun and important than school. Of course you should have fun, but do not make it a priority.
Your main focus should be education. Your priority should be getting high grades. Think of schools and universities as a big pot of knowledge production. Teachers and lecturers are the ones cooking that pot. They have all the ingredients (qualifications and experience) needed to produce knowledge.
Youth should have a mindset that will lead them to success. Your guardians won’t always be with you. You will grow and you will have a family. So the only way to change your mindset is by indulging in educational activities and clubs.
Join debating clubs, attend educational programs, prioritise your studies, have vision and listen to motivational speakers, they had the same experience. These activities will change the way you think and approach situations. You will be educational oriented.
Zoey Sayward once said “don’t wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect”.
Young friends! Take advantage of school and prioritise education.
In other words, don’t sit around and wait for someone else to employ you, get up and pursue your dreams. Make the current moment perfect, study for a brighter future.
