A TRUCK driver survived after the truck he was driving collided with a train at the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) at Walvis Bay on Monday.

According to Erongo police deputy commissioner Erastus Ikuyu of the Erongo police, the accident happened at about 15h55 near the south gate of Namport.

It is alleged that the truck driver, Jeffrey Hankuku (44), who is a Zambian national, was driving the truck belonging to the BHL Logistics company with registration number ATB 3343, after offloading copper.

The brakes of the truck failed due to the air pressure and he collided with the oncoming train.
