Two Angolan nationals escape custody at Eenhana

The police in the Ohangwena region are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two Angolan nationals who escaped from custody at Eenhana on Sunday.

Three suspects allegedly used a metal object to break through the wall of their cell before fleeing.

One was, however, apprehended later on Sunday, leaving two at large.

Warrant officer Andrew Nghiyolwa, from the Ohangwena police community affairs subdivision, has confirmed the incident and says the three men, aged between 20 and 23, were awaiting trial on serious charges, including rape, murder, and attempted murder.

“We urge the public to assist and report to the police if they encounter the suspects. We are concerned they may have fled back to Angola,” Nghiyolwa says.
