Two Ndilimani Cultural Troupe members die in car crash

Two members of the Ndilimani Cultural Troupe died instantly in an accident on the Western Bypass in Windhoek Thursday evening, while another band member sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred near the Ndilimani farm at Brakwater north of the capital at about 22h00.

Police on the scene informed that the two deceased persons – a man and woman – and the survivor were on their way to the farm when the incident occurred.

The police said the Polo vehicle in which the three were travelling and another vehicle (Volvo) were racing on the national road to the farm.

The Volvo left the Polo behind and made it to the farm, but when its driver realised that the other car was taking too long to get to the farm, he drove back to the Western Bypass only to discover the horrific accident.

Police officers suspect the driver of the Polo might have lost control over the vehicle which caused it to leave the road and roll several times, landing on its right side.

All three people were thrown out of the vehicle.
