Unidentified man jumps from Poly Heights in suspected suicide

A young man allegedly jumped from several floors of the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST)’s Poly Heights residential building in Windhoek on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place around 17h30.

“It’s alleged that a security guard on the premises heard a loud noise and upon investigating, discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified male on the ground. It is unclear from which floor the deceased fell, and it has not yet been confirmed if he was a NUST student,” said Namibian Police deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi in an incident report.

No identification documents were found on the deceased.

Shikwambi added that more details will be provided as police investigations continue.

NUST spokesperson Nashilongo Gervasius said that university security personnel are working closely with law enforcement authorities to investigate the incident.
