Another weekend, another few events to join in on. Get your winter coat on and enjoy these upcoming happenings in and around Namibia.
The Franco Namibian Cultural Centre’s regular live music show, Acoustic Friday, will be back on 26 July, the last Friday of the month. Ras Sheehama will be the headliner. Catch the 19h00 show for N$80 per person.
Wolfshack is closing down and moving to a new venue! But before that, join them for their ‘Season Finale’ this Friday.
The FNB Whisky Festival is back this weekend! On Saturday, 27 July, at Mercure Hotel in Windhoek, join in on the artisanal tasting experience for N$375. Doors open from 18h00.
On the same night, Loft Nightclub will be welcoming multiple acts from South Africa, including The Rhythm, for their ‘Whos Next: Unlocked Experience’. Tickets are available on Webtickets.
The Be Our Guest Service will then take place at the Christian Family Centre this Sunday, 28 July, from 08h15.
The event aims to celebrate and acknowledge individuals who have made significant contributions to society across various spheres and will feature interviews with former first lady Monica Geingos and Veronica Theron.
On Wednesday, 31 July, Etcetera will be hosting a private art exhibition for Namibian art collectors and buyers from 18h00.
How about something you can do weekly? On Wednesdays, why don’t you try out karaoke at Mynt Nightclub, or kizomba and semba lessons at The Wine Bar and Restaurant.
Every Saturday there is the Green Market Windhoek at number 3 Dr Kenneth Kaunda Street, where you can find organic and local produce, homemade deli meat, arts and crafts and gardening supplies.
Another market you could go to is the Boeremark on Saturday, 3 August, at the Windhoek Showgrounds from 08h00.
The FNB Whisky Festival will make its way to Ongwediva at the Trade Fair Centre, Queen Hall on Saturday, 3 August. Tickets will be N$375 and the doors open from 18h00 for the tasting and networking experience.
Starting on Thursday, 8 August, the Anchen Wille Dance Academy will be staging Alice in Wonderland at the National Theatre of Namibia from 19h00.
Subsequent shows will occur on 9, 15 and 16 August. N$200 tickets are available at Waltons Asia’s Valley from 22 July.
As the seasons change and Windhoek starts to warm up, why not enjoy an evening of a RaZul Experience at Anna’s Kloovenburg on Saturday, 10 August.
