Effective now, all Gondwana properties will be integrated into the Dr MacQ Network, offering 24/7 access to general practitioners via WhatsApp, phone calls or SMS.
Free Access During Trial Period
During this initiated three months trial period (July to September 2024), guests staying at any property, travelling in Namibia2Go vehicles or using Go2 Traveller Transfers will enjoy complimentary access to Dr MacQ’s telemedicine services.
If a guest feels unwell or sustains an injury, the lodge team will promptly provide contact details for Dr MacQ, enabling a private medical consultation without the need for a physical visit to a doctor’s office, emergency room or hospital.
Additionally, a pilot programme at the Namib Desert Collection includes a small on-site pharmacy. Guests issued prescriptions by Dr MacQ can collect and pay for their medication directly at the lodge, further enhancing convenience and care.
Urgent Care and Emergencies
For urgent care or medical emergencies, the lodge team will immediately consult with the Dr MacQ team on behalf of the guest.
The doctors will assess the patient’s condition and manage the situation, including contacting emergency services or alerting the receiving hospital if a medical evacuation is necessary.
