ALLOW me space to express my dismay at the Oshana Regional Council.
I cannot believe that our leaders are setting such a terrible example. Since when is criticism such a bad thing? I thought the Government they don’t want to be criticised is the one that set up the workshop where Dr Joseph Diescho was supposed to be a facilitator.I have personally attended one of his workshops and I learned a lot.He does not simply criticise the Government but states facts that he can support. Why do we not like to hear the truth? Is it because it is threatening or what? There are many dubious deals happening in Government, and if someone points that out then I think we all ought to listen.I understand it is a Swapo Government but Swapo is supposed to be only a small part of who we are as Namibians. But even Swapo supports unity and solidarity.Swapo fought for our independence and freed us from oppressive rule, the rule of colonialism. But until when are we going to keep singing the same song? We need to move forward. We must learn to listen to what those who are criticising is have to say, if we need to change then we must change (which of course should start with our attitudes) otherwise we don’t.Please let us set our differences aside for the sake of the nation and let us move forwards as a united Namibia and not as separated groups of individuals.I really hate to think that our country is grooming “untouchables”.Natalia Shilongo Via e-mailSince when is criticism such a bad thing?
