LEONARD TYENIMOLOHAVE YOU ever wondered why your tuck shop is not making any profit, yet one just across the road appears to be bringing in more revenue? You always see your neighbour restocking every four days or so, but it takes roughly three weeks or even more for you to do so!
“What could be the problem?” you might ask.
One thing you must know is that, for a tuck shop to retain customers and make them want to come back, it needs a very wide window. This appears more welcoming to your clientele.
Tuck shops with very small windows tend to get ignored, more often than not.
Just look at the tuck shops that appear to be doing well in your area, and you will see that they have big windows. You will often hear people saying: ‘I really don’t like buying from that particular tuck shop’, but when you ask them why, they have no logical reason for it.
They can only sense that something is wrong with it, but can’t pinpoint exactly what it is.
Secondly, it is the stock that is being kept in the shop.
Customers don’t like struggling. They do not want to always come to your business wanting to purchase a specific item but you either do not have it or you don’t sell it.
If your tuck shop is half empty with only a few items in it, you won’t have many consumers coming to your shop and that will be the reason why you do not increase your revenue.
A fully packed tuck shop invites and retains customers.
Word of advice; invest into your business, stock it up with different products that will attract different consumers and make the window just a bit wider for a welcoming touch and I promise you will start seeing drastic changes.
