Widespread showers expected

WIDESPREAD showers will continue today but from tomorrow the rain will move to the northern regions.

Weather forecaster Olga Tjiueza says today there will be a 40 to 60 per cent chance of rain in the northeast, and a 20 to 40 per cent chance in the central and eastern parts of the country.
‘But for the southeast, there is only a 10 per cent chance of rainfall,’ said Tjiueza.
Farmers in the northern and northeastern regions are happy with the continuing good rains, as they are now assured of a good harvest.
Of the rainfall figures reported yesterday morning, Rundu had the highest figure of 39,5 mm, followed by Leonardville and Goedemoed, both with 22 mm.
Grootfontein measured 18,7 mm, Keetmanshoop 14,7, Nkurenkuru 8,5 and Ondangwa 8 mm.
