Windhoek events in the near future

If you ever find yourself bored in Windhoek, you can’t say there was nothing to do.

Strap on your boots, slap on a smile and go out into the fresh air with the following events coming to Windhoek soon:

This Friday, 19 July, the National Art Gallery of Namibia will be hosting its popular exhibition social, called ‘Happy Art Hour’, featuring live art demonstrations by College of the Arts alumni.

Tickets are N$50, and the event starts at 17h00.

On the same evening, theatre production ‘+Aoni //Aes’ will be staged at the National Theatre of Namibia.

Written and directed by Nelago Shilongoh it stars Diolini, Hazel Hinda and Dawie Engelbrecht. There will be another recital on 20 July.

At The Barn on Friday you could pop in for some live music courtesy of singer Immanuel (from The Ells) from 18h30.

How about picking up a new skill? On 21 July there’s a pastry baking class you could join, hosted by Silver Spoon Academy.

From 09h00 to 15h00 for N$800, you will cover short crust and different pastry dishes.

On Saturday, music is in the air. Vinyl’s Cafe is hosting ‘Rock Stars Go Acoustic’, featuring YZ and Ou Slow Band for N$50, while Craft Café Bellissima will have a night of music with the multitalented Treza.

Every Sunday you can catch the weekly Village Sunday Market in Liliencron Street.

In the spirit of fostering the budding art industry, why not head over to the St Paul’s College Art Exhibition on 22 July? Entry is free.

Every Wednesday, try out karaoke at Mynt Nightclub, or kizomba and semba lessons at The Wine Bar and Restaurant.

Next week Thursday, 25 July, Dunes Restaurant at Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino will have an evening of Italian Food and Wine Pairing. For N$750, enjoy a three-course meal from 19h00.

It’s not all wine and cheese . . . how about getting your blood flowing with the Glow charity Race Night on Friday, 26 July? This is a nighttime walk, run and cycle through the Kupferberg route for charity, open to adults for N$150 and children for N$120.

Wolfshack is moving and they want to take all of you with them. But first, one last party next week Friday, 26 July, from 13h00 for N$50.

The Ells and DJ Musketeer will be the entertainment for the night.
