Windhoek man accused of killing partner on Christmas Day

A Windhoek resident has made his first court appearance on a murder charge in connection with the killing of his girlfriend on Christmas Day.

The man, Henock Negodhi (42), of Mix settlement north of Windhoek, appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court in Katutura on a charge of murder, read with the provisions of the Combating of Domestic Violence Act, on Tuesday.

Negodhi is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Rosalia Ndapandula Iimene (38), in their house on Christmas Day.

Police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi reported on Monday that Iimene was killed at about 02h15 on 25 December, when she was stabbed several times with a knife.

Magistrate Esme Molefe postponed Negodhi’s case to 3 March for further investigations to be carried out and to give him time to apply for legal aid. Negodhi is to remain in police custody in the meantime.
