Yola B Set to Electrify Night Under the Stars 2023

Get ready for an electrifying night of music, as the summer edition of ‘Night Under the Stars 2023’ takes centre stage at Goethe-Institut Namibia.

This year’s event features the sensational Namibian-Austrian singer, Yola B (Beate Baumgartner), in her highly anticipated debut performance in Namibia.

Yola B is no stranger to the global music scene, having wowed audiences as the lead singer of the acclaimed electro swing band, Parov Stelar. The band’s captivating performances have graced stages across Europe and Asia, with Yola B’s lyrical talents shining through in hits like “Dandy”, even making an appearance in a Colgate advertisement.

Sharing her journey, Yola B said, “Following the birth of my daughter in 2011, I engaged in various projects in Austria, collaborating with groups like the American Gospel Group and an Afro-pop band. Later, in 2014, I joined the Neo Swing Band DelaDap, where I recorded four albums and embarked on extensive tours until 2019.”

After a successful stint abroad, Yola B returned to her home country, Namibia, in late 2019, where her son was born. Notably, she has channelled her passion into mentoring and coaching aspiring vocalists, finding inspiration in her role as a vocal coach.

Yola B’s long-awaited return to the Namibian stage will be highlighted at Night Under the Stars on 1 September. The event promises an unforgettable evening as Yola B takes the audience on a musical journey with her favourite electro swing tunes, crafted during her time in Europe. Accompanying her on this sonic adventure will be Gareth Harvey on the saxophone and Riaan Smit on the guitar, adding layers of musical brilliance to the performance.

Mark your calendars for the concert, which commences at 19h00 on Friday, 1 September. The entrance fee is N$50. – unWrap.online
