Youth energy forum expands to Lüderitz

The Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF), a key forum for encouraging young Namibians in the energy sector, has expanded to Lüderitz.

In a statement, the forum says its effort to develop the next generation of leaders will focus on the fields of oil and gas, hydrogen, and renewable energy.

Founded by Fanuel Shinedima, NYEF has become vital in influencing the next generation and helping to change Namibia’s energy environment.

“Through a comprehensive programme that includes instructional materials, workshops, and online debates aimed at deepening their awareness of the energy industry, our purpose is to educate, inspire, and create possibilities for young people,” Shinedima says.

According to him, they are committed to sharing success stories, offering mentorship opportunities, and fostering connections with business executives.

“In order to link young people with important stakeholders, we organise summits, seminars, and online platforms. We also encourage networking opportunities and cooperative projects,” he says.

The forum says Lüderitz is the new location as a result of the region’s increasing need for a youth platform.

NYEF wants to give young people in Lüderitz the tools and encouragement they require to succeed in the energy industry and take an active role in Namibia’s future sustainable development.

“Our expansion into Lüderitz is a landmark moment for NYEF,” says Shinedima.

Shinedima says they recognise the potential and enthusiasm among young people in Lüderitz and are committed to creating a platform that empowers and informs them about Namibia’s energy landscape and developments within their town.

“We call on various stakeholders to actively support this strategic move by investing in our youth, providing resources, and engaging with our initiatives. Together, we can build a sustainable and innovative energy future for Namibia” Shinedima says.
