The Youth Power Group (YPG) is closing off their 2019 events calendar with a 13 December march on road accidents before the festive season.
The YPG is an initiative that aims to empower members of the youth to realise their potential through various activities and programmes.
The march will start at 13h00, and will follow Independence Avenue to Meatco. The aim of the march is to warn the public against the recklessness which always seems to mark the Christmas period.
YPG’s Vincent Tjizu says they want to communicate to the youth that everyone has a responsibility to ensure that safety prevails during the festive season.
“We want to stress that a sound-minded approach needs to be practiced as road deaths over this period are very common.”
Coordinator Luciano Links says more about the march will be communicated via radio.
“We are busy organising flyers to be handed out to members of the public, and we encourage the public to support this march.”
