Kaitjiukua Zamuee (20), a model and actuarial student, has been selected to represent Namibia at this year’s Miss Petite Global.
The pageant says it celebrates women of all backgrounds and empowers them to discover their potential through experiences that build self-confidence and create more opportunities for success.
The international pageant is based in Kaula Lumpur in Malaysia, and aims to give women under 1,68m tall an opportunity and platform to advocate causes close to their hearts.
This year marks the second edition of the pageant.
The pageant is scheduled to take place from 9 to 14 May in Kuala Lumpur.
Zamuee was appointed by Namibian pageant director and entrepreneur Bobby Kaanjosa, who obtained the rights to the pageant last month.
Participants will compete in swimsuit, national costume and public speaking competitions.
So far, 20 countries are set to compete this year.
Zamuee is currently based in Malaysia where she studies.
She was a semi-finalist in the Miss Namibia 2022 pageant, and represented Namibia at Miss Africa Malaysia, where she was placed among the top 10.
Zamuee says she will educate people worldwide about Namibia.
“My greatest objective, whether I win or not, is to put my beautiful country on the map. It saddens me deeply whenever I meet someone and they have no clue of my country. I desire to change that; to share the greatness of my country,” she says.
Zamuee says pageants celebrate women’s strengths.
“My first beauty pageant by fate was Miss Namibia 2022 at the age of 19, which was delayed as I had to move back to Malaysia.
“I then did Miss Africa Malaysia, which taught me a plethora of valuable lessons. My current pageant, Miss Petite Global, is something I am excited about and ready for,” she says.
Born and raised in Windhoek, Zamuee is currently studying actuarial science at the Sunway University in Malaysia, and is a culinary enthusiast.
“I am a fierce young lady from strong women, making me one too. One word to describe myself would be ‘inquisitive’. I constantly strive for new skills and appreciate the learning process.
“I am deeply passionate about fitness and health. I believe if your mind and body are taken care of, everything else will be under control in your life,” she says.
Zamuee says she plans to explore and learn more about the other contestants and their countries.
